So, I recently tried to watch ALF again. The entire series popped up on one of the (way too many) streaming services I pay for, and I thought, Oh man, this is going to be great! I LOVED ALF as a kid. I thought he was the funniest thing on TV—my parents loved him too. We'd sit in the living room, laughing at every episode like it was the greatest sitcom of all time.

Well… I'm sorry to report that ALF did not hold up. At all. In fact, it might be one of the cringiest, most predictable, and aggressively meh shows I've watched in years. The jokes are stale, the pacing is slow, and the once-charming wisecracking alien now just feels… kind of obnoxious? It pains me to admit this because I was obsessed with ALF—but man, it's a tough watch in 2025.
